Ruthlyn Williams: Mama Ruth believed strongly in family
published: Saturday | October 20, 2007

Ruthlyn Mercelia Williams was born in Cavaliers, St. Andrew on July 25, 1928. She was the third child for Mard and Wilfred Gibson.

She was affectionately called 'Miss Will', 'Mama Ruth' or 'Mama' and was a devoted, loving, caring, stern yet compassionate woman. Mama Ruth was devoted in anything that she was involved in. She was a hardworking woman who helped her children to successfully achieve their goals.

She firmly believed in family. She was always there to help, comfort and support those who were in need. Her family and the Lord Jesus were her motivation in life.

Mama Ruth will be missed by her surviving relatives. They are sisters Myra, Ina, Merlyn and Inez, children Carmen, Gloria, Eula, Verona and Dahlia, son Anthony adopted children Beslie, Barrington, Fay and many more.

Also one daughter-in-law, four sons-in-law, 31 grandchildren, 81 great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, Aunt Joyce, Church family other relatives and friends.

A section of her tribute reads: "If you are familiar with the virtuous woman of Proverbs 31 then you may know our mother, the 21st century virtuous woman. God bless you, mother, we love you always."

She will be missed and forever in their hearts.
