They came from far and near, from home and abroad, from country and town, to celebrate the work and contribution to nation-building of citizens of of Jamaica. And it was a wonderful morning of cheers and standing ovations for the smartly-attired recipients. On the social side, our cameraman Ricardo Makyn was kept busy and we have pictorial highlights for you.


Always in white, the lovely Lorraine Clunie steps ahead of husband Owen as they arrive for the Ceremony of Investiture and presentation of National Honours and Awards 2007 at the National Indoor Sports Centre yesterday.

He received the Order of Distinction in the rank of Commander for contribution to the development of Jamaica's shipping industry.


An elated Molly Rhone has only kisses for Dr. Heather Little-White after receiving the Order of Distinction (Commander Class) for her contribution to local and international sports, netball in particular.


Dr. Carolyn Cooper is out in full white battenburg lace to celebrate her brother Kingsley Cooper's big day.

All religious persuasions were represented at the annual Heores Day awads ceremony held at the National Indoor Sports Centre and we caught Khalid Legare, his wife Colein Legare (right) and their friend Florette Lawrence, who came to support their loved one from St. Ann.
