Taxi driver on the run
published: Tuesday | October 16, 2007

Dwight Nelson, Gleaner Writer

A taxi driver, who plies the Chapelton to Mullet Hall route, in Clarendon, is now on the run, and is being sought by the Chapelton police after he allegedly abducted and sexually molested a 12-year-old girl.

Reports are that the child left home in Mullet Hall to perform an errand for her parents on Friday afternoon. On her way back home, she was reportedly abducted and sexually assaulted by the taxi driver and later released.

The child reported the incident to her parents, who then reported the matter to the Chapelton police.

When The Gleaner arrived at the Chapelton Police Station, police personnel there were tight-lipped about the incident, as the investigating officer was not present at the time. However, other sources confirm that the child has been hospitalised in serious condition.
