A magnificent ocean view of the Negril Escape Resort and Spa. - Contributed

Located on the cliffs at West End, The Negril Escape Resort and Spa truly provides an escape from the everyday hustle and bustle of life. Its ideal location on a wide expanse of land provides visitors with the opportunity to explore nature in all its forms. Take a swim in the pool or sunbathe on the shores of the Caribbean Sea, at this uniquely private resort.

The rooms are intricately designed to highlight the different aspects of Jamaica's culture and ethnic backgrounds.

"Negril Escape provides a really cultural representation of Jamaica. The cottages are not only rustic, but a lot of Jamaica's art is represented here as well," said Carey Wallace, CEO. According to him, the landscaping is also unique, showcasing tropical flowers along with fruits and vegetables in the mini gardens surrounding each cottage.

The resort has eight cottages comprising 35 rooms. Each cottage is designed to depict either African, Indian, Oriental or Jamaican cultural life. Pick a room of your choice and relax, as most rooms include cable television, air conditioning unit and there is a wonderful view of the Caribbean Sea.

Wide variety of activities

The wide variety of activities available at the resort should keep you occupied, as you can go snorkelling, scuba diving, cliff jumpingor participate in more relaxing activities, such as yoga or a massage. Another unique feature of the resort is its wireless Internet service that is available all over the property.

The Lifeboat Restaurant and Bar, located at the resort, provides a wide variety of local and international dishes that should keep you satisfied. "You feel like you are at your Jamaican home at Negril Escape," Wallace said.

The Negril Escape Resort and Spa is situated at an ideal location since it gives you the opportunity to explore the other attractions in West End. Only minutes away from the resort is the LTU Pub that overlooks the sea and serves as an ideal hang-out spot for locals. Not far away, the 3 Dives Restaurant and Cliff Bar provides traditional Jamaican food and beverages such as jerk pork, chicken and seafood. You can also enjoy live traditional Jamaican music while you dine. Enjoy real Jamaican food at Mi Yard, which serves foods such as fritters, roasted breadfruit, fried fish and saltfish. If music and entertainment is what you crave, then take a stop at The Jungle Nightclub, Sports Bar and Grill. Dance the night away downstairs or go upstairs and relax with your friends while enjoying some food and drinks.

Unique Jamaica

The Negril Escape Resort and Spa is a member of Unique Jamaica, a marketing company that collaborates with different hotels, restaurants, and eco- and geo-tourist attractions to provide a unique Jamaican experience to locals and travellers. It seeks to explore the more cultural aspects of Jamaica through water excursions, arts and craft and traditional and contemporary Jamaican music.
