4-y-o left to mourn father's murder in MoBay
published: Sunday | July 29, 2007

Noel Thompson, Freelance Writer

WESTERN BUREAU:

A four-year-old boy seemed to have been lost in a world of confusion as he gazed at his father's lifeless body lying along King Street, Montego Bay yesterday.

As his mother, Denise Campbell, recalled last seeing Rohan Graham (the boy's father) spending a brief time with his son, the little boy rested his head on her shoulder, hugged her tightly and stared at his father's body lying in a pool of coagulated blood on the road.

He never spoke, but his anxious countenance demonstrated that he needed some questions answered.

No motive

Campbell said Graham had left her house about five minutes earlier, after he took a jelly coconut for his son.

Up to press time yesterday, the Montego Bay police had no motive for the ghastly murder of Graham, 25, alias 'Googu Man', a resident of 6 Albion Lane, Montego Bay.

Gang feuds

The murder occurred just metres from a taxi stand and a short distance from the heavily populated Albion Lane and Canter-bury inner-city communities.

Residents told The Sunday Gleaner that at about 10:40 a.m. yesterday, Graham was walking along King Street when he was attacked and a knife used to partially sever his neck.

In recent years, residents from Canterbury, Albion Lane and Gully have been at odds and have been involved in frequent gang feuds, resulting in lives being lost.

However, yesterday, no finger was pointed at any one from Canterbury. Residents say they need some answers.
