Jamaica add more medals to tally

JAMAICA BOOSTED their medal tally to seven after participating in seven finals on Wednesday night as the Central America and Caribbean Swimming Championships (CCCAN) continued in El Savador.

Two silver and two bronze medals were added to the one goal medal and two silvers earned by Kandese Nangle in the event's first two days.

After heading into the 15-17 girls' 100 metre freestyle with the fastest qualifying time, Natasha Moodie finished second with a time of 59.08 seconds behind El Salvador's Pamela Ben'tez (58.20). She then went on to finish third in the 15-17 50m breaststroke in 35.15 behind Puerto Rico's Patricia Casellas and Trinidad and Tobago's Kimba Collymore, who wrapped up the first place spot in 34.35.

Brad Hamilton also earned a silver medal when he finished second in the 50m breastsroke (30.59) behind a meet record swim from Panama's Edgar Crespo (29.33).

Jamaica's ssecond bronze medal of the night went to Xavier Boland in the 11-12 boys' 50m breaststroke (34.15). Evante Gibson of the Bahamas won in 33.82.
