'Zekes' back in court
published: Friday | June 29, 2007

Former Matthews Lane strongman 50-year-old Donald 'Zekes' Phipps, who was convicted last year of double murder, appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

Phipps and his common-law wife, 48-year-old Yvonne Sailsman, were ordered to return to court on September 12 when they will be tried for unlawful possession of $18 million.

The money was allegedly found at a house in Havendale in May 2005 during a raid carried out by the police.

After a Home Circuit Court jury convicted Phipps in April last year of double murder, Justice Horace Marsh sentenced him to two terms of life imprisonment.
