NOTE-WORTHY: Many thanks, Cons Marks et al

Many thanks, Cons Marks et al

On Saturday, June 16, while travelling from Kingston to Montego Bay, I ran into car problems and took a detour through Falmouth.

I was helped by some gentlemen at the Shell station in the town. Many thanks to all who came to my assistance, but especially to Constable Marks who, after assuring me that his first career had been in radiator work, repaired my torn hose and then, along with his squad mate, escorted me to a repair shop to check on my cooling fan. Thank you.

What of the garrison factor?

There is much talk about this so-called 'Portia factor'. Is there any relationship between that and the 'garrison factor'?

Why are we not hearing more about the garrison factor when, by virtue of the fact that the PNP has approximately 13 'garrison' seats, where criminality and fear play a significant role in securing victory? Portia and her team, void of substance and policy issues, have an unfair and immoral headstart in the race - Bible and all in hand and aided by, the Rev. 'Prophet' Phinn.

How contrary to the teachings and principles of Jesus Christ. How blasphemous these people are to be talking about God's anointment and appointment!.

We need to talk about the garrison factor in the upcoming election.

Blasphemy

I refer to the cartoon in The Gleaner of June 11. In this, former Prime Minister, P.J. Patterson is saying "Hallelujah" as present P.M. Mrs. Portia Simpson Miller, dressed in her robe, is depicted baptising 'Comrade Lisa Hanna'.

All this is very humorous. However, it shows the P.M. saying "In the name of the Holy Spirit, I now baptise you Comrade Lisa". This is blasphemy. Whatever good intentions we may have, we must not equate the Holy Spirit with nonsense. Remember God said to Moses "Take off your shoe for you are standing on holy ground." Whoever we may be, we must remember when we come to God, we must take off our shoes. May God forgive us for our ignorance.
