SPALDINGS, Clarendon:

Last Sunday's service at the Sanguinetti New Testament Church of God, in Clarendon, was no ordinary worship service. It was one filled with praises to God for the mothers who were in attendance.

Led by pastor Bishop Barrington DaCosta, the atmosphere was one filled with great joy, as mothers were praised, serenaded and presented with special tokens for the hard work they have done as mothers.

In his sermon, Bishop DaCosta called on mothers to ensure that their children are protected according to how God would want them to be. He encouraged them to visit their children's schools as well as the bus stop to see what is happening with their children, especially in these days they need all the protection they can get.

"God is able to protect the children. When God's protection is around your children, noteven Satan can harm them," said Bishop DaCosta.

He also stressed that the community needs to play a more significant role in the development of children like in days of old when every child belonged to all in the community. The community, Bishop DaCosta said, must give mothers all the support they need, ensuring that the children are brought up in the right way.
