Realtors recognise excellence

Members of the real- estate fraternity celebrated the success of top performers on Saturday night at the Realtors Association of Jamaica's annual banquet.

This banquet always sees the best coming out to be recognised, so this was definitely an evening to celebrate at one of the nation's finest hotels, the Terra Nova.

Two stalwarts of the real estate sector were honoured for their years of service. Trevor Blythe of Trevor Blythe and Co. and Hyacinth Finson (in absentia), were presented with citations. The top producers from the real-estate sector were also honoured for their performances in 2006.

Warren Harris and Friends provided an entertaining array of songs with their instrumentals, which merely proves that good entertainment doesn't need a DJ jumping around on stage with his pants hanging down while screaming his throat sore. Their repertoire included classics such So Amazing and Wonderful World.

The Realtors Association of Jamaica was started in 1966 by the late C.D. Alexander. The association is also an affiliate member of the National Association of Realtors (NAR), with headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Guests at the banquet included David Dixon, Pauline Brown, Anyika Russell, June Sturridge, Howard Johnson Sr. and son Howard Johnson Jr., Edwin Wint, Gordon Langford, Donald Glanville, Canute McFarlane, Sean Finlason, Doreen Buchanan, Joan Latty, Sandy Tavares-Finson, Peter Bangerter, Dr. Karl Blythe and wife Norma and Winston Wright.
