The Jamaica Pegasus' annual Mother's Day brunch was the place to be as high fashion, great music and scrumptious food was the order of the day.

Held in the Grande Jamaica Suite last Sunday, mothers, accompanied by their children and husbands, started filling up the room from as early as 10:00 a.m. to hear Dwight Richards and Friends and One Third perform for mom, and they got more than they bargained for.

A few extra treats were thrown, such as saxophonist Dean Fraser and singer Maria Myrie, who wowed the crowd with their musical talents.

Real women wearing designs from Angela's showcased fashion for mothers of different ages, sizes and occasions.

The entertainment began with Dwight Richards and Friends playing instrumentals before singer Maria Myrie almost brought down the chandeliers with her powerful voice. Hits such as Mr. Melody, and Good or bad, happy or sad had the audience rocking and singing word for word.

Lady in red Ambassador Madge Barrett, former commissioner of customs, Allison Moore, her daughter Deon Forbes, Sharon Wolfe, Joan Russell, Danielle Chung, Crystal and Monique then strutted their stuff on the catwalk as they showcased casual, semi-formal and formal outfits.

But it was the lyrical genius of Dean Fraser at around 2:00 p.m. that got the crowd excited. From "Wonderful World" to John Legend's "Ordinary People," Dean had the crowd wrapped around his little finger. His singing of "Diamonds in the soles of her shoes," ended his splendid performance.

The talented Dwight Richards then took over the entertainment and belted out hits such as "To love somebody," "Signed, sealed, delivered," "You raise me up," "Stand by me," and "Cupid," before he was summoned for and encore.

His medley featuring "Wings of a dove," and "Sammy" got all the mothers out of their seats and dancing.

It was around 3:15 p.m. when the well-anticipated One Third opened with "Can't stop loving you." The sultry voice of Adrian had the ladies screaming before he was seen.

They performed songs from the Rising Stars competition, including, "Sunshine," and "Homely Girl," and threw in an original entitled "Baby Boo," much to the delight of the audience.

Just over half an hour later as screams for an encore filled the room, they closed the show with the "Half- Way Tree Medley."

Overall it was a day filled with fun and entertainment for mom.
