Searching for family
published: Friday | May 18, 2007

The Editor, Sir:

A baby boy was left in the street at 64 Henderson Avenue in St. Andrew in 1970. He was found and named John Brown by Children Services. They estimated his age to be about 18 months and he was then taken to the Maxfield Park Children's Home. John Brown is now 37 years old and lives in Portland, Jamaica.

He was adopted at four years old by a couple who live in Yallahs, St. Thomas. He was returned to the Government by his adopted parents when he was 11 years old and spent the remainder of his childhood and adolescent life in boys homes across Jamaica such as Homestead and Mannings. He left Jamaica several years later and has lived in the United States and has visited Mexico, Panama, Costa Rica and the Cayman Islands.

John has never met his parents and does not know any of his family or relatives. The only information that he has from his past is that he was found at 64 Henderson Avenue, St. Andrew in 1970.

He is interested in finding his family or anyone who might have information about the incident.

I am, etc.,
