NOTE-WORTHY - Vote third party
published: Friday | May 18, 2007

Vote third party

To an extent, I am in support of the 'No Vote' campaign of Miss Betty Ann Blaine - late as it is. I say NO VOTE for the PNP and the JLP (the evil twins of Jamaican politics). Voters should cast their votes for third party/independent candidates.

Reading programme

I think the 'Read a book to a child' programme will result in an educated and well-prepared child for a well-rounded education. In addition, there could be the intervention of personal computers to learn typing, writing, financial figures, statistics and other mathematical problems.

I believe in having a head start in education for the next generation of leaders, teachers and businessmen and women. Read on Jamaica.

Dietary plea

Approximately three years ago, I asked for help in putting together some recipes and dietary tips for my Jamaican patients who live in England. I am a nurse who looks after their well-being, and I run weight management clinics. Time has gone on and I'm asking your readers again for any more help that they can give me on different recipes or tips to help me help them here in England. From vegetable stews or any chicken dishes which I can change to become more healthy for them to eat. Or are there any health professionals who can give me any help?

The China model

To corroborate Mr. Paul Ward's letter about big business not necessarily being the same as unbridled capitalism, one just has to take a look at China, where big business is pretty much the name of the game, as opposed to unbridled capitalism. The Chinese model is now outstripping the status quo, relative to neo-conservatives' capitalism. I think this is the way forward as providence is now suggesting the world system tends to change every 50 years or so and possibly the time has come around again.
