Early leaders Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) face Melbourne in the feature match of the two-day Jamaica Cricket Associa-tion (JCA) Super Cup today at Melbourne Oval, starting at 10:00 a.m.
JDF scored the league's only win last week but Melbourne, behind an impressive unbeaten double century from discarded West Indies batsman Marlon Samuels, notched up 456-7 declared.
While many expect another keen contest, it may be difficult for any of these teams to secure an outright win.
Once again Samuels, who led Melbourne's batting last week against Trelawny, is expected to score most of the runs for the Half-Way Tree-based club.
Big total
Yannick Elliott, Carlton Baugh Jr. and Andre McCarthy, all of whom contributed to last week's big total, will also be looking to continue their good form.
However, the JDF's bowlers Warren Medwyn-ter, Kamal Dennis and Wayne Cuff have other ideas and their ability with the ball cannot be questioned.
The JDF, despite Daren Powell taking 6-88 against them, managed to score an easy five-wicket win over the Wavell Hinds-led Ken-sington.
Joseph Palmer, who led the way last week with two good knocks, 53 and 38 not out, along with Cuff and Medwynter, should lead the JDF's batting.
