Election is near
published: Saturday | May 12, 2007

The Editor, Sir:

Election is truly in the air. If we listen and observe, our doubts will be removed.

The signs are clear, senseless killings are all around, major robberies are being staged, the propaganda increases via talk show hosts, skewed headlines appear in the press and radio newscasts are slanted and biased in their presentation.

The above signs and wonders bring back memories of the pre 1980 election period and one sees the ghosts of Roy McGann and Captain Webley looking on.

However, I am comforted by the following lines:

"Nearer and nearer draws the time, the time that shall surely be, when the earth shall be filled with the glory of God, as the waters cover the sea."

Some who will read this will not live to see the election; it is so ordered by the merchants of death. So for those of us who will so depart, may Michael and all the holy angels welcome us in the great hereafter, so that we may be spared the habitation of Lucifer and Jezebel.

I am, etc.,

OSWALD SEYMOUR, J.P.
