Reward for stolen salt products
published: Tuesday | February 6, 2007

A Canadian food trading company is offering a reward of $100,000 for information leading to the arrest of persons who stole a 40-foot refrigerated container containing salted fish products from its Naggo Head facility in St. Catherine, and for the return of the stolen goods.

The goods are worth approximately $7 million, company officials said.

According to police reports, the goods, belonging to CanJam Trading Limited, were stolen from lot one, Congreve Park, Naggo Head, early Sunday morning. The items stolen included saltfish and salt branded, Atlantic Pearl.

Meantime, the company is advising consumers to be cautious when purchasing salted fish products and salt with missing labels as the items could have been stolen.

Members of the public are also being asked to contact the Bridgeport police if they have information, at 988-2697 or 366-5247/ 479-8509.
