Crash claims brother and pregnant sister
published: Wednesday | January 3, 2007

Two siblings were killed and five others injured in a vehicular collision on Orange Street, downtown Kingston, about 6:00 a.m. yesterday.

Dead are Nicholas Gunn, 17, and his 18-year-old sister, Tishanna Gunn, both of Hope Flats, St. Andrew. Tishanna was about eight months pregnant when she was killed, but doctors managed to save the baby's life.

Reports are that the Gunns were travelling in a Nissan Sunny motor car along Orange Street when their vehicle collided with a Jamaica Urban Transit Company bus.

Nicholas Gunn was pronounced dead at the nearby Kingston Public Hospital. Tishanna Gunn died while undergoing surgery. The injured persons, who were passengers in the bus, were treated and released.

The Kingston Central Traffic Department is investigating.
