Old Harbour Seafood Festival is Oct 29
published: Thursday | October 19, 2006

Rasbert Turner, Gleaner writer

St. Catherine, Spanish Town:

The third staging of the Old Harbour Bay Fish, Bammy and Sea Food Festival will take place on Sunday, October 29.

The festival which will be held at the Jamaica Public Service Company Sports Club in Old Harbour, St. Catherine, will have a magnificent array of fish dishes such as steamed, roast, escovitch, curried and brown stew and other sea food in various styles. There will also be shrimp, lobster, conch and a host of other products to suit the discriminating palate.

This year's festival comes after a four-year break and was revived with the assistance of the Old Harbour Lions Club.

According to Carlos Wahl, it was a very good gesture when members of the Lions Club approached him to revive the festival.

He said that having staged the first two festivals 2001 and 2002, he knows that it has boundless potential and that the event is synonymous with Old Harbour.

To showcase the festival's offerings, the promoters engaged the taste buds of several representatives who turned out at the Old Harbour Lions Club Civic Building for the launch.

Several persons who spoke said that they were impressed with the variety that will be available for patrons. Entry fee will be $400 for adults, $100 for children.
