CHAMPIONS GODFREY Stewart's bid to draw closer to the Zone C front-runners in the 2006 ISSA/ Pepsi/JN daCosta Cup hit a snag yesterday afternoon when they surrender a 1-0 lead and had to settle for 1-1 draw with group leaders Grange Hill in their game at Grange Hill.
By virtue of the point they got from the game, Grange Hill, who won their first two games, now have seven points, while Godfrey Stewart, with a win and a defeat in their
previous two games, are on four.
Petersfield, who went into their Zone C contest against Manning's with maximum six points from their first two games, were held to a 0-0 draw, which keeps them in joint first place with Grange Hill on seven points, while Manning's are in the same position as Godfrey Stewart, with four points from three games.
In another game in western Jamaica, 2003 champions Frome Technical consolidated their position atop the Zone B standings, making it three wins from three starts
with a big 3-0 win against
former champions Rusea's. Kevin Wynter, Keswick Samuel and skipper Obrian Woodbine were the goal-scorers.
