Cops nab murder suspect
published: Sunday | September 24, 2006

Rasbert Turner, Gleaner Writer

Spanish Town:

The search for 26-year-old auditor, Christopher Oliver, is over. He was being sought for allegedly murdering his mother and two brothers in a horrific attack in the Twickenham Heights area of St. Catherine on Friday.

Head of the St. Catherine North Police Division, Supt. Harry Daley told The Sunday Gleaner that an early morning raid by investigators led to the capture of the suspect off Brunswick Avenue in Spanish Town.

Supt. Daley said that the "latest success is as a result of continued improvement between the police and the citizenry."

According to the police, Myrtle Oliver and her two sons, 14-year-old Omar Oliver of St. Catherine High School, and his 17-year-old brother, Omeil Oliver, student of José Marti High School, were bludgeoned to death allegedly by Christopher, who used a knife and a sledgehammer in the gruesome attack.

Two other persons who suffered injuries were hospitalised.
