The Editor, Sir:
I am wondering, why the urgency for a political debate? In my opinion, it is all about a clash of wits to show to the nation the bright child versus the dull child or one's prowess over the other.
Mr. Editor, is it constitutionally required that there must be a debate between the Government and Opposition on national matters?
It is also noticeable in our history that when election is in the air, it is referred to as 'the silly season.' so whether the debate is on or not, the voters will decide who will manage their affairs - the dull child or the bright child.
Know-it-alls
In life, we have many know-it-alls who are on the outside but when they get inside, it's another kettle of fish, as the saying goes.
For our country to move forward, we need unanimity and not too much opposition with destructive criticism.
The nation's parliament is typically a war zone and not setting any example for community-based organisations because so often they do not demonstrate any amicability. We must stop the political power craziness and pray for peace and love.
I am, etc.,
