KEVIN TYNDALE otherwise called 'Richie Pooh', who was sentenced last month to 30 years' imprisonment, has filed an appeal against his convictions and sentence.
In the grounds of appeal filed yesterday, Tyndale is contending that the judge failed to recognise or to treat properly the weakness in the evidence relating to his identification.
He is also complaining that his sentence was manifestly excessive.
Tyndale, who was reported to have been a member of the gang known as the Gideon Warriors is facing additional charges of illegal possession of firearm and wounding with intent.
He is to return to the Gun Court on December 12 when his trial will begin.
It is being alleged that sometime last year he shot a policeman in the leg in Papine, St. Andrew.
Mr. Justice Donald McIntosh sentenced Tyndale last month after he found him guilty on charges of illegal possession of firearm, wounding with intent and robbery with aggravation.
Evidence was given in the Gun Court that on January 28, 2003 Tyndale and another man shot and robbed a businessman in Papine.
