Shades of Italy

THERE HASN'T been this much buzz about Italy since the World Cup in 1990!

The lawns of Jamaica House became an Italian courtyard on Friday August 19. We were no longer in St. Andrew but in a lush fertile region of Italia, let's say Parma. Classical was the music of choice not reggae. And the delicacy was cheese, not the usual Burger King on a Friday night.

The Jamaica Cancer Society hosted its annual Wine and Cheese fund-raiser, La Dolce Vita. And life was indeed sweet as guests chose from a variety of the dairy delicacies. But there was also pastry that sweetened the palate.

Guests were busy all night moving around trying to sample as many of the goodies on offer. There was an Italian flavour for the night, hence, all the joys of Italia. The music matched the mood with the soothing violinic tones of Carol Ball.
