DEFENDING WRAY and Nephew Premier League champions Tivoli Gardens brushed aside Rivoli 4-1 in the second game of a triple-header at the National Stadium yesterday.
Tivoli Gardens started their onslaught in the most unlikely fashion, as their first goal came from the boot of right-sided midfielder, Ian McAnuff in the 21st minute.
Tivoli only had to wait nine minutes for their second, as Markino Gillings finished off a picture perfect through ball from Christopher Nicholas.
In the 32nd minute Tivoli went three up when Orane Simpson slid in to score in an empty net after some good work by McAnuff to knock a ball across goal.
Rivoli managed to pull one back after Sean Coleman latched unto a Garfield Reid cross inside the box to drive home a 39th minute consolation goal.
ADVANTAGE
Tivoli again stretched their advantage however, when Marco McDonald rose high to head home a Jackson corner.
After the game, Tivoli coach Glendon Admiral Bailey said he was pleased that his team was scoring.
"All season we've been quarrelling for more goals and today we got what we were asking for. It is a good result in that sense," said Bailey.
In the final match of the triple-header, Harbour View beat Arnett Gardens 1-0.
