General Accident crash BNS's hopes
published: Tuesday | November 2, 2004

Paul-Andre Walker - Staff Reporter

THE BANK of Nova Scotia (BNS) 'A' were thwarted in their attempts at successfully defending the Business House Netball Association's Senior League title on Saturday night by a complete performance from the Oberon Pitterson-led General Accident, which scored a resounding 60-46 win at the National Indoor Sports Centre.

The loss for the defending champions was attributed to a poor effort, their captian Suzette DeSouza said.

"We lost because we made too many bad passes. The team didn't have the fight to come back out and execute what the coach was telling them to do so I guess the better team won on the night."

National centre Nadine Bryan said General Accident "played well as a team".

In the Intermediate 'A' division final, HEART Trust NTA were able to get the better of Jamaica Urban Transport Corporation (JUTC) 33-24.

While in what was possibly the most exciting game of the day, Mainland took the Intermediate 'B' title with a nail-biting 27-26 victory over Blue Cross.

In the Junior Division, Life of Jamaica (LoJ) were similar one-point winners, ekeing out a clutch victory over ISSA Transport Group 24-23.

AWARDS CEREMONY

After the day's events, there was a short awards ceremony where ICD was named the most disciplined team for the season and Oberon Pitterson received the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award for the senior final.

In the Junior division, Nickiesha Richards of LoJ was the final's MVP, in the Intermediate 'A' division HEART Trust's Camille Lyons walked away with the MVP title, while in the Intermediate 'B' division Hilary Ferron of Mainland was the final's MVP.
