Utilities regulators to meet tomorrow

THE SECOND annual conference of the Organisation of Caribbean Utility Regulators (OOCUR)is being held at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Montego Bay, Jamaica from tomorrow to November 5.

The conference is being held under the theme "Independent and Transparent Utility Regula-tion in the Caribbean", with Bill Express, the bill payment arm of Grace, Kennedy as one of the main sponsors.

The OOCUR is a non-profit organisation comprising utility regulators from the Bahamas, Barbados, Dominican Republic, Guyana, Jamaica, the OECS, Trinidad and Tobago and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The primary mandate of the OOCUR is to assist in the improvement of utility regulation, to undertake research, training and development, and to facilitate understanding of regulation issues and sharing of information and experiences.

Dr. the Honourable Paul Robertson, minister of development, will give the keynote address at the start of the conference.
