Rain puts damper on games
published: Saturday | February 28, 2004

By LeVaughn Flynn, Staff Reporter

RAIN INTERRUPTED play yesterday in most of the ISSA/KFC Schoolboy Basketball games scheduled but a few big winners emerged from those that were played.

No Under-19 games were played but three Under-16 games were completed before the rain, and of those St. George's College had the biggest win with a 91-54 spanking of Manchester High at Mico Teacher's College.

St. George's Michael Rodgers had a game-high 37 points and pulled down eight rebounds to lead his team to its 11th consecutive victory of the season.

Clayton Buckham scored 19 points for the losers.

Old Harbour High's Phillip Reid scored 23 points but it wasn't enough as Tivoli High outscored his team 59-51 in their encounter at the Stadium courts.

Dandre Miller led the winners with 18 points.

In the day's other game, St. Catherine High trounced Charlemont High 57-34 also at the Stadium courts. Ricardo Sutherland top scored for St. Catherine with 20 points while Adrian Myers lead Charlemont with 14 points.

Earlier in the week, Muschette High drubbed Edwin Allen High 103-70 on Wednesday at MoBay Cricket Club. Samarzo Samuels scored 59 points for the winners and collected 18 rebounds and five blocks.
