published: Saturday | February 28, 2004

Sebert Harrison of Riversdale, St. Catherine gets a helping hand from Philip Hamilton (standing), Cable & Wireless Jamaica's Corporate Communications Officer as he tries out a computer donated by the provider to the Riversdale Computer Training Centre. - Contributed

RESIDENTS OF Riversdale, St. Catherine will now have increased exposure to computer education as they recently received well-needed assistance from Cable & Wireless Jamaica which donated a refurbished upgraded computer to the community which is in the process of establishing a computer training centre.

The computer was handed over to Sebert Harrison, a resident of the Riversdale community by Philip Hamilton C&WJ's Corporate Communications Officer at the company's head office in Kingston.

Mr. Harrison, who is blind, wrote to C&W last year seeking a computer to help in providing persons in his community hands-on computer experience.

Mr. Harrison expressed his appreciation for CWJ's contribution which would provide opportunities for more persons to become computer literate.
