Cabinet approves $48m textbook contract for Trinidadian printery
published: Saturday | February 28, 2004

CABINET HAS approved a $48 million contract for Trinidadian company, Eniath's Printing Service, to print textbooks for the Government's primary textbook programme.

The selection was made by the Ministry of Education after reviewing bids sent in by local, regional and international printing companies in response to an advertisement placed in local newspapers last year, the Ministry said in a release.

THE LOWEST BID

Four companies bid but only three prequalified. Eniath's was the lowest bid of the three; the Gleaner Company bid $57.6 million; and Von Hoffman $62.6 million.

The primary textbook programme supplies texts to students from grades one to six, and teachers in the primary and all-age schools in the core subject areas of language arts, mathematics, social studies and science.
