By Anthony Foster, Freelance WriterFORMER JAMAICA cricket team manager Lyndel Wright has been named manager of the West Indies B team for next month's Carib Cup Series, which bowls off on January 9.
Wright, a project manager at the National Housing Development Corporation (NHDC), was replaced as Jamaica's manager by Maurice Clarke for the upcoming series, despite guiding the national team to three four-day titles (2000 Busta Cup, 2001 Busta International Shield and 2002 Busta Cup).
The former Boys' Town and Jamaica player, who is known to be a disciplinarian, will have under his guidance former national Youth players Danza Hyatt and Dwight Washington, both who were named to the West Indies B 14-man squad.
The Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) yesterday confirmed that 20-year-old batsman Hyatt and fast bowler Washington, 20, who were left out of Jamaica's 16-man squad, are Jamaica's picks on the B squad made up of 'left-over' players.
Hyatt scored 191 runs from six innings in Jamaica trial matches while Washington bowled with control, but was unable to find a place in the pace attack.
