We need the Minister of Education's intervention
published: Wednesday | December 31, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I SEEK the intervention of the Minister of Education in the plight that students at the Liberal Arts College (LAC) are now facing. These students have worked so long and hard in their studies and are now told that it is all in vain. It is unfair to them that all of their credits obtained before December 31,2003 are non-tranferable to other institutions. It seems to me that UCJ is punishing persons for choosing to study at LAC.

Individuals who have applied to study the Bachelor of Science (BSc.) in Education and the BSc. in Business Administration did so out of convenience, affordability and the fact these courses were approved by University Council of Jamaica. Honourable Minister, these students need your help to continue to reach their goals. They could not foresee that these problems would arise.

I am, etc.,

A. CAMPBELL
