Christian confab for MoBay
published: Tuesday | October 7, 2003

By Paul A. Reid, Staff Reporter

WESTERN BUREAU: INTERNATIONALLY FAMOUS Dr. Albert Odulele of London, England, will be one of the two overseas pastors who will speak at the third staging of Word Explosion conference put on by the Montego Bay-based Fresh Bread Ministries International (FBMI), which will be held at the Montego Bay Civic Centre, October 12-16.

Dr. Odulele, who spoke at the first conference that was held at the LaMirage Hotel in 2001, will be joined by the American Archbishop Marc Enoch, as well as Pastor Frank Rosevelt and host, Pastor Philemon Samuels.

SET GOALS FOR CONFERENCE

The conference will have nine sessions, starting on Sunday evening with two sessions to be held Monday through Thursday. The day sessions will start at 11:45 a.m., while the evening sessions are set to get underway at 7:00 p.m.

The Mt. Salem Open Bible Dance Group, as well as the FBMI Praise team, along with others, will also take part in the event.

According to Pastor Samuels, the Word Explosion conference "was birthed to accomplish a number of goals; first and foremost, to educate and help to develop the believer in the God-given talent in them. We endeavour to allow the Lord through these teaching sessions, to make the kind of changes in the mind of the attendees that will impact not only our churches but also the communities in which these churches operate."

EXPLORING GOD'S ORDER AND STRUCTURE

The conference, according to Pastor Samuels, is also "to help to birth a passion for Kingdom living that will help in the relentless pursuit of Christ and His Kingdom. The sometimes nonchalant attitude of many believers as it relates to the pursuit of the Kingdom must be averted if we are going to experience and see the demonstrative work of the Holy Spirit among us. For there to be sustainable development and continuity in the kingdom of God in our community, there has to be the kind of spiritual order and structure to support it. No longer can we operate by chance and coincidence but by the God ordained structure that will support the kind of growth we are anticipating.

Before God established priestly worship in Israel, He constructed a tabernacle. Before He sent His son, He prepared a body for the Son. God does nothing without preparing for its sustenance and continuity. Therefore, we will explore God's order and structure for true growth in the Kingdom of God both as a body and as individuals. Come and let us explore. Be open and get ready for God to change us."

Dr. Odulele, who is a highly prolific and charismatic speaker, is the President and pastor of Glory House in London. The main thrust and emphasis of Dr. Odulele's ministry is to declare without compromise, the authority, integrity and authenticity of God's word and the personality of the Holy Spirit.
