Standardising bus fares
published: Tuesday | October 7, 2003

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I WOULD like to draw your attention to an issue facing commuters travelling on the Kingston-to-May Pen route buses. This is a situation whereby commuters have to be paying different fares for the same stage. This is especially observed for certain stages between the two major destinations. This has led to confusion on the part of persons travelling that route, and, in addition, there have been serious confrontations between commuters and conductors.

I believe something needs to be done by the Transport Authority to standardise these fares so that commuters, as well as bus operators, can be sure of the fares, and so alleviate the confusion.

I am, etc.,
