GO-JAMAICA CHAT ONLINE
published: Tuesday | April 8, 2003

THE MEAD-HAVEN Ministers' Fraternal launched the national FORGIVENESS CAMPAIGN on March 4, as part of its contribution to the National Values & Attitudes Programme.

The campaign comes as a direct response to the findings of the national survey on the motive for murders 2002. The survey indicates that reprisals accounted for 32 per cent of murders in 2002 while domestic violence accounted for an additional 27 per cent. The Fraternal is of the view that over time, the campaign on Forgiveness could have a positive impact on the nation. This would result in less violence arising out of reprisals and revenge killings. The ten-pronged campaign will include dramatised messages for radio and television, relevant articles in the print media, an exhibition, a symposium and presentation of National Awards for Outstanding Acts of Forgiveness. Go-Jamaica will host a Online Chat with the Mead-Haven Ministers' Fraternal on Wednesday, April 9, 2003 at 6:00 p.m. To participate in this very important discussion with Rev. Devon Dick, pastor of the Boulevard Baptist Church and his team, log on to www.go-jamaica.com.
