Sandals Ocho Rios holds motivation workshop
published: Tuesday | April 8, 2003

TEN YOUNG women from the Windsor Girls Home in St. Ann's Bay, who are a part of the Sandals Ocho Rios/Windsor Mentorship Programme, participated in another workshop put on for them by the resort. The workshop was based on motivation and was hosted by well-known psychiatrist Dr. Aggrey Irons.

The women, as well as a few of their mentors, took part in a very vibrant session with Dr. Irons, which helped them to better understand themselves and their feelings and to build their self-esteem.

Programme Co-ordinator at Windsor Girls Home, Christine Demmit was very pleased with the outcome of the workshop had turned out and said that she would make sure that the young ladies shared what they learned with the rest of their peers at the home.

In the year that the programme has been running, the young women have been able to develop a well needed relationship with someone out of the home that they can call a friend. "Some of the personalities have changed dramatically too," says Barbara Black Superintendent of the home.
