Kintyre calm after a violent 'storm'
SOME RESIDENTS have begun returning to the violence-torn community of Kintyre in St. Andrew, but many of them say it will take more than the presence of the newly introduced police command post to improve the shaky cease-fire there.

Anti-vending unit success short-lived
THE ANTI-VENDING Unit in the Jamaica Constabulary Force has been successful in ridding the streets of Christiana and Spaldings in Manchester and Clarendon of vending over the past three weeks. However the unit's success appears to have been short-lived.


Beware of accepting gifts from lovers
A CASE INVOLVING a loan transaction with an unusual deduction for entertainment and gifts was disposed of in the Supreme Court last week.
