DO PLANTS just get greener when you're around? Do they bloom their best after you get your fingers all covered with dirt while massaging their roots? We have heard it said repeatedly, that plants are like people and respond to love and attention.

Breaking the silence - Stigma, discrimination and HIV/AIDS
HERS IS not the sort of life anyone would wish on his or her worst enemy. To describe it as rough would be an understatement. Latoya Smith is 17 years old and HIV positive. Since age 12, this soft-spoken teenager has been running.


Opinion - Bring the fatted calf...
AS I crawled by the eight car pile-up on the Causeway last Monday, I reflected that the accident scene itself was a metaphor for the larger carnage that is taking place in our country.
