Tourism awards sweep

WESTERN BUREAU:

JAMAICA walked away with the lion's share of the awards in the Caribbean Hotel Association's (CHA) move to honour major players in the tourism industry, who are pacesetters in the area of environmental management and programme implementation.

At the third annual awards luncheon hosted by the Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association (JHTA) and the Environmental Audits for Sustainable Tourism (EAST) Project at the Confer-ence Centre of the Half Moon Hotel in Montego Bay yesterday afternoon, Jamaica copped most of the 16 accolades.

The Sandals Group stood taller than other resorts at the prestigious function, and was the only local hotel to walk away with awards in more than two categories.
