The PNP's neglect of St Mary

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I WAS born in the parish of St. Mary and spent some of my young years living there.

I can remember many political events that took place there while I was in my youth. Like the time Michael Manley landed in a helicopter and block the road at the roundabout in Oracabessa, we were all enraptured and fully under his spell. But what a price St. Mary has paid for its loyalty to the PNP.

While Ocho Rios grew in the 1980s we looked on like hungry dogs waiting for scraps that we never got. The PNP cannot run away from what it has done to this once prosperous parish, what a shame.

I am etc.
