Lotto millionaire jailed on shooting charge

MANDEVILLE, Manchester:

ONE OF Mandeville's most recent millionaires, Anthony Bryan, is in jail and will spend another week there before he can apply for bail.

Bryan is answering to charges of illegal possession of firearm, shooting and wounding with intent. He has been in custody since April 28, after he was picked up at 2:00 a.m. in the Meadesfield area of Knockpatrick, Manchester, following an alleged altercation with Christopher Campbell of the same area.

A 29-year-old former labourer of Spur Tree, Bryan attracted public attention after hitting the lotto jackpot of $46 million late last year.

He was denied bail when he appeared before Resident Magistrate Marva McDonald last Thursday and is scheduled to reappear on May 14 to answer lesser charges before appearing before the Circuit sitting two days later.

He is being represented by attorney Tom Tavares-Finson.
