Remove street people from Ocho Rios

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I AM writing this letter to you to express my concern about the many homeless people on the streets of Ocho Rios. If you want to market this town as a tourist destination you can't have this. Harassment is one thing, but half naked people on the streets?

I have seen a mad man kick a woman. I have lived here all my life and most of these people don't come from Ocho Rios. It's as if someone is dumping them off here because every day you see a new one. The Parish Council needs to look at this problem and act on it immediately. They say they are making a new prison. What about the homeless?

I am, etc.,

JEROME DACOSTA
