Bullock is right

The Editor, Sir:

Colin Bullock is a respected economist and his analysis in Sunday's In Focus, as usual, was right on target. I would strongly encourage the Government to revise the Supplementary Estimates, taking into consideration the points raised by him and other commentators. It does not make sense to craft a budget in haste, which is unattainable, unsustainable and will result in increased hardship for Jamaica.

Help needed

The time for arrogance and pride is over. This is now a time to admit that the Government obviously does not have the answers and well needs some help from a local team of experts.

Jamaica deserves a more analytical, pragmatic and strategic Supplementary Budget that will result in growth and elevation from the crisis that we now face.

I am, etc.,
