"I think we were rushing the game a bit," said Tivoli's coach, Lenworth Hyde, after the match.

"I told the players that the match is played in 90 minutes so we just have to be patient and pass the ball around," said Hyde.

The win pushed Tivoli to 27 points while Reno remain on 13.

Novian Boyd created the first goal when he darted down the left flank and delivered a well-weighted cross, which Gray nodded past Reno's goalie, Edsel Scott, from point-blank range 12 minutes from the first break.

On the stroke of fulltime, Gray again was on target, rifling home past Scott after getting a pass from his own half of the field.

Tivoli's win was aided by the sending off of Reno's Nicholay Finlayson in the 31st minute for a second bookable offence.

Reno, playing with 10 men, then moved into a defensive mode from then onwards while Tivoli attacked at will.

Poor finishing

However, poor finishing from the hosts' attackers kept the game close.

Reno's coach, Wendell Downswell, said his team did not recover after playing with a man short for about 59 minutes.

"I think that the sending off of Nicholay was the turning point in the game. As you see, we played a disciplined game, at least for about 70 minutes, and one or two mistakes cost us the game," Downswell said.
