Highest commendations are in order for Fathers Gregory Ramkissoon and Richard Ho Lung of The Mustard Seed Communities and Missionaries of the Poor, along with the other anti-abortion advocates joining forces to assist expectant mothers contemplating terminating pregnancies. Better yet is the plan to care and provide for these children, if the mothers are unable or unwilling.

Innovative move

This bold and innovative move is exactly the kind of action needed for the transformation of the society. It has long been established that the harsh realities faced by countless unwanted children provide the perfect conditions for cultivating society's future misfits and aberrations. It is hoped that many of those who have been sounding the anti-abortion war-cry will give generously to this most worthy cause.

While the Roman Catholics might not agree with the mention of contraception, unless there is a vigorous sex education/family- planning drive mounted through the Government's information outlets, the fathers and their organisations may soon be inundated by requests they cannot contain, since our people tend to procreate like rabbits.

Our next stop is to rescue the existing idle youth whom we painstakingly avoid on the streets every day and get them into inspiration camps, where they will be under some kind of military discipline and learn a trade. I am sure the Jamaica Defence Force could assist in this area.
