James Beckford, Michael Black-wood and Lacena Golding-Clarke head Jamaica's 15-member team to the 2008 IAAF World Indoor Championships in Valencia, Spain.

Three-time Sportsman of the Year Beckford, the 1996 Atlanta Olympics silver medallist who finished fifth at the 1997 and 1999 World Indoor Championships and Olympic Games relay bronze medallist Blackwood, a silver medallist at the 2003 World Indoors in the 4x400m relays, head the men's team.

Golding-Clarke, who finished sixth at the last two World Indoor Championships, will again try to improve on her best placing of fourth, which came in 2002.

She is heading for her fifth straight World Indoor Championships, having started in Lisbon, Portugal, in 2001.

GC Foster College's first year student Anastasia Le-Roy is the only local-based athlete in the team. Le-Roy and members of the management team will depart the island this morning for Spain, where the event will take place from March 7-9.

Men: Lerone Clarke, Lanceford Spence, Adrian Findlay, Dewayne Barrett, Michael Blackwood, Edino Steel, Decosmo Wright, Maurice Wignall, Yhann Plummer, Aldwyn Sappleton, Dorian Scott, James Beckford.

Women: Shevon Stoddart, Davita Prendegast, Lacena Golding-Clarke, Anastasia Le-Roy and Moya Thompson.

Management: Robert Stephenson (manager), Donald Quarrie (technical leader), Audrey McDermott and Toni Dilworth (assistant managers), Heleen South (media liaison); Dr. Paul Robinson (team doctor) and Karl Smith (coach).
