Bus behaviour
published: Tuesday | March 4, 2008

The Editor, Sir:

I would like to offer my congratulations to the JUTC in its effort to get Jamaicans to line up in an orderly manner when boarding our buses. We cannot simply accept that 'a so tings go a Jamaica'. We need to encourage our people to strive for the best in everything we do.

On another matter, the drivers of the buses need to be taught how to communicate with their passengers. I have witnessed drivers closing doors in the face of passengers while they are asking questions or even driving off while people are waiting patiently in a line at the door.

I have had personal experience of a driver rudely asking if I was taking a bus for the first time when I asked that he open the exit door at the rear.

I am, etc.,
