Government, EU Commission sign financing deals
The Government of Jamaica and the European Commission this week signed four financing agreements totalling €17.6 million (J$1.7 billion) through the ninth European Development Fund, to support four infrastructure and institutional strengthening projects.

Antigua cuts income tax, increases salaries

Antigua Finance Minister Dr. Errol Cort on Monday announced a reduction in the income tax rate from 15 per cent to as low as 10 per cent, and topped up salaries for public servants after revealing that the Baldwin Spencer administration was on track to a budget surplus next year.

KRB renames rum line, expanding to wider markets

KRB LEA Jamaica Rums Limited has rebranded its Trelawny range of rums and relaunched them as the Port Royal Rum line, saying that in the past year, the company has invested $20 million to secure a niche for the products.
