Religion, politics not a good mix
published: Wednesday | July 18, 2007

The Editor, Sir:

I am very disturbed at how our so-called lover of the poor (Portia Simpson Miller) has brought religion into our politics. One can assume that the only reason for doing so is that she believes this can work on the minds and hearts of the Jamaican electorate.

For your information Madam Prime Minister, all these so-called tricks are things of the past. Insteadof trying to get some help from some of your more advanced associates, so as to debate Bruce Golding, you are wasting your time making a mockery of our political system. As a result, you have not only hurt your party in the polls, but you have distanced yourself from a lot of people who admired you.

Being a staunch PNP supporter from way back in the '60s, I could and would never vote for the party again if you are its leader.

I am, etc.,
