President Bush has surprised few with his decision to send more troops to Iraq with a mandate to bring peace to the country by subduing rival factions, clearing out militants and bringing calm to the country.

The Editor, Sir:I write to comment on your columnist Garth Rattray's opinion piece in The Gleaner of January 8, 2007 headlined 'Corruption confession won't change anything'.


Time and things have changed

The first time I travelled abroad, I was 29 years of age. For weeks before leaving Jamaica, friends who had done the journey insisted I should take a washout.
