"She completes me," says Shaunavon Blackmore, a pleased groom, in his reply. With his bride, Keisha Shakespeare, by his side Mr. Blackmore told guests at his wedding reception of his love for his wife. "In 2000 I had a surgery and she was there for me. She took care of me like a mother would her child. That's when I knew she loved me and I decided that I wasn't going to let her go."
The bride, 25, and groom, 24, met six years ago while they were students at the Northern Caribbean University, Mandeville, Manchester. The Blackmores were the second couple to be married on Saturday, March 11 at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel's annual Wedding Extravaganza. The wedding ceremony held in the ballroom of the hotel was open to all attendees. The bride and groom solemnised their marriage by pouring of sand and exchanging vows during the ceremony officiated by Bishop Jethro Hart.
At the intimate reception in Talk of the Town on the hotel's 17th floor, specially invited guests were treated to a mixture of moving toasts, humorous jokes by master.
